Olive Wood Items

Olive Wood from Tunisia:  Please note that we are not yet the manufacturer of these items.  We make ceramics in Nabeul, Tunisia, but our friend and neighbor in Tunisia, Chokri, makes these beautiful olive wood pieces.  We have partnered with Chokri to distribute these items to our customers worldwide.  Many of our customers find that the olive wood items sell very well side by side with our ceramics, such as the four utensils with our Utensil Holder, or the ladle with our Tagine or the nesting bowls with our sauce dishes.  We are opening up our own olive wood studio in 2013 though and will keep updating as we progress on the project.

We will be creating new shapes quite regularly so please check back.  By the Fall 2013 we are aiming to offer 25 to 30 total shapes.  If you have any specific requests or ideas on items to make, please let us know.

Olive oil is a major Tunisian export crop, so the Ministry of Agriculture has strict rules about cutting down olive trees.  Only those trees certified as no longer bearing harvestable fruit may be cut down and then young samplings from a local nursery must be planted immediately.
